Meanwell Power Supply Fan

the 50-60mm ones are loud ... ppl are using mufflers (I never tried but it is easy print so you can try), something like these

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4623971what I used myself are this type of replacement covers:

you got the wrong mean well psu

The one I have is this one.

The fan is on the end of the case

@arhi I printed the first one, didn't reduce the noise on a chinese knock off 24v power supply.

I bought an RSP-500-24. Silent until the jet turbine of a fan turned on.
It was so loud I couldn't take the noise anymore and bought a fanless unit, the HEP-600-24. The entire case is a heatsink. There is no fan at all and it is silent. It was quite expensive though at more than twice the price of the unit with a fan.
It has been running my Ender 5+ with a volcano hotend for about 6 months with no issues.

Meanwell make fanless, quiet and not-at-all-quiet power supplies. Datasheet says high power density, that usually translates to noisy fans; and noisy is quite subjective. But to echo arhi; if its just air then thats normal, but if it sounds like a dying giraffe it may have issues with bearings or balancing which is unlikely on a genuine supply.
Not sure if relevant for you but did you read the notes in the datasheet you linked to? At a glance it's not suited for use in the EU. (which is the case for a few of the meanwell supplies i looked at)

Fans in power supplies can be very noisy, especially if the power is high and the fan is small.
Meanwell have the UHP series of fan-less power supply in a wide range of power specification. They are high quality, high efficiency, and very quiet.

It's super noisy, every minute or so, with a very small and high RPM fan that made my 3D printer very unpleasant. It went back to Amazon and I got a fan-less one instead.

I bought it through amazon, and I have just heard back from the supplier who suggests taking the covers off and looking inside. Not sure if I want to do that as it may cause warranty problems. Also I don't think its the fan. sounds like transformer noise to me and its the opposite end of the case to the fan.

I have one of these noisy MeanWell power supply. The issue is that the fan does not turn at all until the temperature goes above a threshold, then runs at full speed. This is non-sense, as it could run slowly all the time, at a lower speed to prevent temperature rising, remaining silent.
A solution would be to use a 24V fan and constantly powering it up under 12V (12V build from 24V)...

I use ton of MW psu's and I never opted to use the ones with fan on the "front/back" as they have to be noisy as $#^^@$^@$ .. so that one is expected to be loud, too much power in a very small package need to cool it down..
@Stephen6309 I have not tried those mufflers as I said so have no clue if they work, ppl designing them claim they do. I used the cover replacement technique - you get the top cover off and you print replacement where you put 12cm fan .. makes the case 2cm thicker (for the thickness of the fan) but quiet ... I also tend to select fanless PSU's and do the same thing to them, with a quiet slown down 12cm fan they last forever..
