How to make sure bed mesh is loaded?
-
Hi there and thanks for the help to this newbie.
Ender 5 Pro
I have followed this step-by-step tutorial to making sure that bed levelling is done correctly and Z-offset is set: https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Test_and_calibrate_the_Z_probe
But, how do I know that the configuration for ABL is loaded?
Reason I'm asking is that it doesn't look like it is loaded. I opted to print a skirt as build plate adhesion; 10mm away and 4 lines wide.
When it printed the short, the lines from about Y 170/180 seem te be to close to the mirror with almost no filament deposited on the mirror. I adjust the back two knobs while printing the skirt. It seems to be OK now.Should the ABL not have compensated if the bed was too close? I use 72 probe points. Is this too much?
Thanks again.

send M122
look for
Bed compensation in use: mesh, comp offset 0.000

Thanks very much. Will do so and have a look. Busy with a print a will do when its done.

@deonholt
you can do this while printing
that is actually the best time to checkgo to the console tab and send M122
-
@Veti thanks. I have this exactly as you said:
Bed compensation in use: mesh, comp offset 0.000
Does this mean that it is loaded?

@deonholt
yesdo make sure that your probe offset is correct. an incorrect offset can result in strange results.

If it doesn't seem like it's being applied, even though it's active, then there may be some other issues.
Please post some more information for us, like
What board are you using?
What firmware version?
Post your config.g, homeall, homez, bed.g files.
Post your slicer start gcode.
Post a photo of the heightmap.
The results of M122 never hurt either.
