Inconsistent z axis heights
-
Hey all,
Im still in the process of setting up my robo3d onto the duet 2 wifi,
Im finally at the point where i can mesh level the bed. Only when i try the z axis starts off at a normal height but mid way through the mesh level it stops because the zprobe has already been triggered.
Also my z heights are controlled by 2 motors and occasionally the carriage becomes out of level.
And advice?

@joehsmash Please post your config.g and results from M115

so far i have verified all of my settings with my old firmware, with regards to speeds, and movement settings.
when i push it to move 5mm it moves 5 mm, or 10.
all my belts are tight, as well as bolts and carriages are level

What type of probe are you using?
You can use the probe to level the gantry if you switch to using two independently driven motors.

@Phaedrux will this work even though i have both z axis motors plugged into the same z output? what i mean is that on the duet 2 wifi, there are 2 spots to plug in 2 motors.
edit,
i am using a optical ir probe, i initially had it installed on the z endstop, but seeing as its a smart probe i just plugged it into the probe header
-
@Phaedrux also i think this might overlap with my other post
-
@Phaedrux also another edit, i see that reading the gcode that it requires me to plug my second motor into e1. as if another extruder. i will try this.
how do i set up the e1 as a z motor though, i assume i will have to copy over all of the same settings (ie speed... etc) for the e1 motor
-
Alright so ive gone through the process of getting my second z axis motor running off e1, i will try some more in the morning

Sounds like you managed to figure it out. Let me know if you have any further issues.
