Filament config files

Hi All,

Where are we up to with filament config files? Is anyone using them successfully?

To be honest I do most things in the slicer, but I'd really like to have a couple of things in a file so I don't have to change config.g over it. I'd like the file to have:

Esteps/mm
Z trigger height (I print on Printbite, each filament likes something slightly different).
Pressure advance if I use it.

I don't want to get into temps/retraction/etc in the firmware, I'll do that in the slicer or on the fly if required.

Is this a working feature yet, or under development?

Whether it suits your workflow is up to you.

If you're using a lot of different settings for a lot of different filaments it might be worth while setting up custom load and unload macros for each one. You can also setup a custom config.g.

Or if you don't want to bother with the load/unload operation in DWC, you could just have your custom settings in their own macros and call them as needed.
