@T3P3Tony Thx Tony. Actually, I have a drive for the motor that needs 0 to 5Vdc at the input (nor to say 50mA), and I'm replacing the original encoder by an inductance sensor and a magnet for the feedback. This said, you confirm what I was afraid of... the need to rewrite the firmware. To your knowledge, there's no way to count pulses/sec (directly with a Duet) to control an O/P in voltage or PWM?!
What do you think about mapping a heater O/P (to drive the motor) to RTD/Tc/Thermistor I/P (through a translator pcb doing frequency to voltage)?
Thx!

New to Duet... Need more spec on 6HC's IO
Hi! I'm new to Duet and before spending time and money I'd like to get some questions answered. I have some difficulties to find (cross referencing the Duet 6HC spec pages) some info for the i/p and o/p, such as current capabilities and signal types.
My project: Rehaul an extruder made of 3 heaters (120Vac), 3 Tc, a 24Vdc motor (0-5Vdc input through a drive) and an encoder made of a Hall effect sensor and a magnet on the shaft (1 to 48 pulses per min. 0-5Vdc or to any voltage up to 24Vdc).
My I/O needs:
[1] 1x O/P to drive a variable 0 to 5Vdc/1k input impedance (50mA to drive) dc motor drive: 1x 0 to 5Vdc analog, or possibly pwm (on which I’d put a low-pass RC filter). I saw “EXT 5V” with the note “open drain mosfet Output” Is this a variable analog 5Vdc o/p? Can it drive 50mA? If not, I saw “LASER/VFD” with the note “PWM-to-0 to 10V converter (for variable-frequency drives)”. Is this a variable analog 5Vdc o/p? Can it drive 50mA? I also saw “OUT 4, OUT 5, OUT 6”, which are PWM. What is the o/p voltage? Can they drive 50mA? I read that all the O/P can be PWM… Can they be something else? And what? Can they drive 50mA? What O/P you would suggest?
Many questions for that O/P. Sorry I didn’t find the info. Is someone can answer them?[2] 1x I/P to receive (and count pulses) hall effect signal from sensor. It is a 3.3-24Vdc. I saw “IO_0, IO_1, IO_2, IO_3, IO_4, IO_5, IO_6, IO_7, IO_8”. Doing a counter in the program, can those IO be used for pulse signal from a Hall effect signal? What the board would accept as maximum acquisition rate (motor will turn at 48 rpm)? What I/P you would suggest?
For that I/P, can someone answer?Thx in advance!
A very grateful newbie!
