RE: Timelapse pictures & videos with Duet and webcam on layer change
What is a good way to set up a USB webcam to return snapshot pictures (still image) via an URL? I tried this link and it seemed to install fine. But I'm not getting an image with http://127.0.0.1:8080/?action=snapshot in the raspberry browser.

RE: Octolapse-Like Timelapses
That was it! Thanks Danal. Now time for a crash course in python to figure out what to do with the telnet message.

RE: Octolapse-Like Timelapses
I tried using telnet to connect to the duet. I can ping it fine. But the telnet fails. the Duet & the Pi are on the same wireless network.

RE: Octolapse-Like Timelapses
Inserting the gcode is easy in S3d. my problem is the python script and telnet and glue? I am a mechanical engineer. I can modify some code but I cant write it outright.

RE: Octolapse-Like Timelapses
@resam I tried to use your example script but I do not know my way around python or Linux. I pasted what you have above in a .sh file, included the "#!/bin/bash" and ran the chmod to make it executable. But I get a syntax error.
Can someone post an example script file that will create a jpeg every time I send a M118 S"snap" in my layer change script. If I see how that part works I think I can work out the rest.

RE: Moving steppers by hand & 12V in series for 24V
Thank you.
One more question about the connections to the X-carriage. I read in an older post you said you can combine the common positive to reduce the wire count to the carriage.
@dc42:You can use a common positive (V_FAN) wire for both fans.
If I have two extruders, two thermistors, x endstop, Z-probe, one heatsink fan, and one part fan, Can I combine any other common conductors? can the endstop and Z-probe share anything?

Moving steppers by hand & 12V in series for 24V
When I move my carriage around by hand and the Duet is unplugged I see some led light up and fans turning. Is the back feeding current into the board harmful? Should we avoid moving the carriage by hand?
2nd question. Can two 12V fans be wired in series on a 24V Duet? I know its not optimal but could this lead to any damage?
Thank You

RE: Need Help with Panel Due firmware update
I am powering the duet via usb. I tried via "high power" usb port on my laptop and through a powered hub. The screen did not blink with the default kossel configuration file from filastruder

RE: Need Help with Panel Due firmware update
Next hurdle:
I successfully updated the panelDue firmware, Reprap firmware, wifi firmware, and web console firmware.
Now when i copy the config.g from https://github.com/mzbotreprap/VORON/tree/master/Firmware/DuetWifi/yonkiman/sys
the panel due boots up with the expected configuration but the screen flashes on and off. I tried using the corexy config.g supplied by filastruder on the microSD card and get the exact same result. Any Ideas? -
RE: Need Help with Panel Due firmware update
You guys are great, that is it, my .bin is 34k. What can I do to get the board to reappear in device manager now so I can reflash the correct.bin? I've tried multiple usb ports and rebooting, and "scan for hardware changes".

Need Help with Panel Due firmware update
TLDR My Panel was working, now its black after firmware upgrade attempt.
I purchased a 7" Panel Due and Due wifi from Filastruder.
As part of new printer build I first plugged the panel due into the DueWifi and powered the DueWifi via usb.
The Panel lit up with the initial touch calibration and was displaying realistic temperatures.
I followed the instruction at https://miscsolutions.wordpress.com/paneldue/
I downloaded the PanelDue-7.0-1.16.bin file at https://github.com/dc42/PanelDueFirmware
I installed the bossa-x64-1.8.msi.zip from https://github.com/shumatech/BOSSA/releases. on my 64bit Win7 computer
I did the erase button and reset and the screen went black. as mentioned for the 2.0
I chose COM11 and browsed to the PanelDue-7.0-1.16.bin file and hit write. The process appeared to be successful
I hit the verify button, everything looked ok
I hit the reset button again on the panel board and the screen did not come back on.
I ran the command prompt version and it was successful but the screen was still black.
Com 11 still appeared in device manager as bossac port.
after a reboot and few unplug & re-plug the usb the com11 did not come back in device manager. there are no unidentified devices in device manager either.
The jumper on the panel due board is set to 3.3Vit appears the board is completely dead at this point. Any Ideas?
