I have the Smart Effector on my RMax v2 with the molded cheapskates. The carriage adapters that come with the SE will fit perfectly on the molded cheapskates where the ball joints mount. 713Maker has some really nice stuff, but learn from my mistake and don't get the SE to ballcup arm adapter ($40). The problem with the 713Maker adapter is that it increases the distance of the arm articulation points between axis (not between the two arms of each axis, but between each axis) which makes the effector VERY susceptible to tilting. This wiki page describes it all very well.
Just order a set of 304mm (or larger) magball arms to go with the smart effector and you'll appreciate the upgrade from stock.

@nurbie How have you defined the tools? Selecting tools should work if you've assigned extruder drives correctly and set the correct mixing ratio.

I was under the impression there is no heater in use with the clay extruder. As such the inputs should be free to add thermistors.

I still think it would be a useful feature to assign a fan linked to any/all enabled stepper driver or active heater output for cooling fans in the electronics enclosure, instead of thermostatic control off the CPU temperature or a dedicated thermistor.

Your solved photo shows the connections at the duet end.

What are your connections at the FSR end ?

Is red wire connected to signal on fsr board and at Duet end to Z Probe In ?

My confusion stems from this paragraph in the duet dozuki:

If using JohnSL's trinket board: Connect its Vcc, Output and Ground pins to 3.3V, IN and GND on the Z-probe connector respectively and select mode 5.

John's board does not have Vcc , Output or Ground labels on the 3 pins in the corner of the board.
They are labelled: Signal , -/+ , +/-
