we got results,
i rewired everything to the mini 5+, uploaded a config without the 3HC board and G32 works right out of the box (btw i never mentioned im running a Delta)
so my initial design was to have the mini 5+ at the top of the delta. to be able to plug what ever tool i may think of in the future without opening the bed and the 3HC board to be under the bed doing all the XYZ movement endstop z probe things. making it so that only 2 cables are going up and down (can and 24 Volt).
the design is a D-Force Delta witch has its main board under bed.
well for now im going to stick to the mini 5+, if u need beta testers for 3.4 i would gladly give it a shot
@Phaedrux I hope I didn't offended u, I'm super grateful u guys thinking with me
my main board is a duet mini 5+ in SBC mode with a 3HC expension board doing all the XYZ movements, endstops, z-probe en bed heating
well in the top post i mentioned im using a 3HC board
i shall try to rewire everything to the mini 5+ board and see whats happens then.
If you use a Z probe then the Z motors must be connected to the main board. This is planned to be fixed in release 3.4.
Endstop switches and Z probes connected to the main board cannot control motors on an expansion board. This is planned to be fixed in release 3.4.
is this maybe limiting me right now?
the expension board is doing all the movement (XYZ), endstop, z-probe and bed temperature. the main board is going to be used only for Extruders and heaters
so after some manual calibration using the escher3d wizard, i saw some stange movement and no qlue to where the problem may be coming from.
hope some smart guys here can take a look on what might be wrong and point me into the right direction?
so what im seeing that between moves, even jog moves the nossle dives down and comes up again when closing to the specific coordinates
my first impression is that my rod lengt or radius is way out of line, but after measuring again the rod length as good as i can its the same value in the config
what i did was placing a paper on the build plate, moved the nossle close to it. send command G92 Z0, moved up 5 mm. and did a G30 S-1 and got this as a result.
Still heard and saw the nossle hitting the bed. tommorow i will play with the sensitivity of the piezo PCB
so after following these steps https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Test_and_calibrate_the_Z_probe#Section_Calibrate_the_Z_probe_trigger_height
im getting this as output
im certain of it that im doing something wrong here. also checked the steps per mm by checking the Z with a caliper but they are fine, jogging - 5 mm is 5 mm when measuring.
well its still monday but im getting ready to grab a beer and call it for today
mmmmmm
maybe reading was also hard for me
; Before running this, you should have set up your Z-probe trigger height to suit your build, in the G31 command in config.g.
lets try that first
ty for your quick response and awsome support

maybe im totally missing something (probably), after changing the endstops a bit i got now the third point also touching the bed and then the rest fails.
atleast its checking that it may be to low to trigger z-probe only thing is now that its working against me
#learning your duet3
had the same problem so i got mine from E3D but expect heavy vat costs at customs. I dont know if Duet3D is making boards right now (i hope so) because there own store is closed
think so to but i thought that if i put it here that if other people having the same trouble they can use this post as some help.
because of the mainboard and the expension board where blinking at the same rate it was giving me a false positive that everything was already okay.
hi guys.
after setting up everything on my 3HC board everything is homing fine and working as it should so i tried a G32 command to check if my radius is correct.
i use a 3 piezo's under the bed with its controller and duet is seeing this correctlty
After hitting the G32 command the nossle is going down to its height, witch i set to 30 to minimise te risk that i screwed my height. the first and second probe have no problem. third probe point it says the nossle isnt hitting low enough to trigger z-probe. And its right but then all the rest fails to.
is there somewhere in the config where i can say to lower its z limit on when to determine G32 z-probe not triggered error. also my nossle is magneticly coupled on the top of the effector so it would pop of when z-probe wont trigger correctly
maybe im doing something totally wrong here. i can lower the X and Y endstops (Z would be to low i guess) but would rather like that the software would say there offsets
hi guys,
after uploading my config file and the mini 5+ and 3HC happely talking to each other (red flashing light at the same frequency) , i decided to home all axis but all my motors on the 3HC where only vibrating. even after changing the M906 current command to 2 amp still the same result. all commands where being send to the 3HC and i even got the correct status back of all my endstops (they are on the 3HC board)
after i put the 3HC in manual firmware update (can adress 0) did the drivers set the current right. Now i might be wrong that can adress 0 is used for firmware (saw that somewhere in the documentation) but i believe the 3HC should always see if there is a new firmware available right? and config files should always be written to the expansion board (or that the master is saying what the expansion board needs to do)
so my question is did i mis something in the documentation? and if i upload a new config file do i need to set the expansion board to adres 0 to accept the new config file?
still it wasnt that big of a deal and easy to figure out by just doing stuff.
Hi guys,
after years of running a delta with repetier and never been able to get the bed level (always some deviation around +- 0.1 or even worse) i decided to switch to duet.
So im currently in te middle of my build with the duet3 mini 5 and expension board (love it) but on checking the online configuration i cant select board1.IO_0 (1 to 5 are there)
maybe im missing something?
if this isnt the way to post this kind of missing things, let me know, first time posting here
