M600 Doesn't seem to work with SBC
Hello,
I saw the 3.4.0b3 fixed the bug with Duet 3 with SBCs not working with M600. I upgraded to 3.4.0b4 and gave this a try tonight but can't seem to get this to work. The printer does run filament-change.g and then runs resume.g, but then decides to restart the print. Looking at the resurrect.g file shows the printer restarting the print(M23). I have included the relative files below.

This is the console, I ran M122 before I hit resume. After returning to the last position the printer seems to go into resurrect.g and restarts the file.

Upgraded from 3.2 to 3.3b. Only issue I ran into was the upgrade created a firmware directory but didn't move the firmware files from the sys directory. Pretty easy fix for me to move the files but wanted to make sure you were aware of it.
Update seems to have fixed the issue. I did the same M122, M122 B21 during the print and it shows no lost CAN messages. Doing M122 B21 did hiccup the print but no error message and it was much less noticeable than before. toolboard_good.txt
The print also came out similarly to when the extruder is wired to the mainboard. I was getting worried that the problem was my mainboard, thanks for the help!

Toolboard extruder issue
So I had an issue a few months ago with my toolboard where it suddenly decided it didnt want to extrude properly. This was really never fixed to my satisfaction and I got by with a workaround where I didn't use the toolboard's extruder motor connection and just ran the wires to my Duet 3, which really nullifies much of the usefulness of the toolboard.
I recently updated my board to the newest released firmware(3.2.2) and in the changes I saw CAN diagnostics were further developed. I figured now I might be able to properly diagnose my issue and maybe get it resolved.
A quick recap.
When the extruder motor is wired to the toolboard the extrusion is very uneven and the extruder motor seems to slow down and stop/start as if it were printing a different segment of the print. This leads to some very ugly prints with lots of zits and stringing and over and under extrusion. You can see the previous thread for pictures.
For hardware I have a Duet 3 Mainboard 6HC connected to a Raspberry Pi 4 SBC, a Tool Distribution Board, and a Duet Toolboard, all running on 24 volts(except the Pi of course). The printer is a Core XY with a Hevort XY and a modified HEVO Z axis.
I have tried replacing the extruder motor, replacing the toolboard, adding in the tool distribution board, replacing the CAN wiring between the toolboard and the distribution board, replacing the wiring between the toolboard and the extruder motor.
@Phaedrux has already gone over my config and scripts and didn't find an issue there.
During my most recent print with the extruder motor wired to the toolboard I ran m122 and m122 b21, 21 being the toolboard's address. Here is what I got:

I don't know enough about CAN bus to draw conclusions but I did think it was interesting the amount of lost CAN messages when the extruder is wired to the toolboard.
Any help would be appreciated.

We're looking at options to run multiple independent motion streams (initially just two) concurrently. The idea would be to assign every axis to one of the motion streams, then each move would be assigned to a motion stream depending on which axes it refers to. We would also introduce a new GCode meaning that the streams should be synced at that point, i.e. whichever one reached that command first would wait for the other to catch up, probably with the option of running a parking macro. When the other had caught up, both would continue.
Could this be taken one step further and allow for two printers to print simultaneously off a single board + expansions?

I tried using the new connector that came with the new toolboard. no luck. I'll try some more stuff tomorrow.Would it be possible to setup both toolboards and have them both extrude a print simultaneously? Even if no filament is loaded I should be able to tell if the extruder is showing the issue.

Got the new motor and toolboard from filastruder.
I just tried the new motor hooked up to the old toolboard, I then tried to print my stringing test again and got the same issue on the same areas. I think I've ruled everything else out and this proves to me it's something with the toolboard.

Sadly the replacement toolboard and hemera motor wont arrive till Monday. However I need to do a print for a friend so I tried hooking up the extruder motor to the Duet 3 mainboard instead of the toolboard. I then tried my stringing test sliced by prusaslicer that so far has failed to print every time.
Tons of stringing but then I designed it as a stringing test and it's also printed with a 0.6 volcano nozzle. I also probably need to redial in my settings after changing a ton of them trying to fix the issue. Surfaces look good and I didn't see any signs of the motor stuttering or skipping areas of the print. I think it's safe to say this is an issue with the toolboard. I'll be able to confirm once the 2nd toolboard gets here but I'd be curious if anyone has any suggestions what on the toolboard it could be. Maybe a bad stepper driver?

Not definitive but the 2nd motor doesn't seem to exhibit the issue. The 2nd motor's motion also seems like it's smoother to me. I would think this narrows it down to either something on the toolboard, the hemera motor, or maybe something with the CAN connection.
I had a suspicion this would be the case so I bought another hemera motor and another toolboard this morning. I'm hoping they get delivered by Saturday so I can do some testing over the weekend.

That should cause them both to extrude at the same time.
Do you have any photos of previously "good" prints?
Added these lines, a quick test extruding shows both motors seems to be moving at similar rates. Here is what I added to my config.g,

In the system tab of DWC you can click the check box to highlight all files and then right click and download as zip. Then you can extract the zip file and drag and drop those .g files onto the forum post window to upload them.
Now that we've chased down all the gcode being executed when the print starts we're at least sure something weird isn't getting changed without realizing it.
That's good to know.
Whats the next step? Is it possible to set two motors as extruder for the same tool? If so I can at least see if that one exhibits the same issue hooked up to the mainboard.
