@Veti Would you be able to explain a little more about whats wrong with this or point me towards some info on thermister settings / what is a beta value? my hotend thermistor is a generic one from e3d, my bed thermister is integrated into silicone heat mat - cheap chinese one doubut i'll be able to find any documentation for it.

RE: Another mirrored core xy question
@dc42 thanks, i will still need to amend my endstop location and homeall / homey directions i assume.

@Veti Ok thanks, im going to get the basics sorted before i try and understand what a beta value is.

Another mirrored core xy question
Im currently commisioning my new printer, all movemnts seem to working corectly except the y axis is mirrored.
This image shows how i want the movemet configured as well as the location of the end stops.
my current config (i have removed non relevent sections):

i belive i have to hange the following :
- M669 y-1
- M574 Y1 S2
- change the movments in homeall and homey to positive movments
ive tried this and the movment directions seem correct but i get strange behavior when homing where the x axis tries to continue moving beyond the end stop limit.
Am i making the correct changes or am i missing somthing, TIA.

@Phaedrux Thats very gracious of you, thank you very much.

RE: heatbed loose connection
@jay_s_uk Thanks, Can anyone give me some guidence on how i would set up one of the heater pins on the expantion header to control the SSR?
-
RE: heatbed loose connection
@Phaedrux Unfortunatly i dont have a picure of how it was before, i noticed the problem by moving the header and seeing that the pin on the back was also moving. E1 is currently open but i did plan to add a second extruder in the future. would it be possible to use a couple of the pins on the expansion header to drive the SSR?

RE: heatbed loose connection
This is getting realy frustrating, nothing I try will get this joint flowing properly. Any ideas what I can do here would be much appreciated.

heatbed loose connection
Ive just finished assembling my new printer and have been having problems with the heated bed. ive establised that the cause of the problem is a loose solder joint on the bed- screw terminal on the duet board. I tried to reflow the joint but have been unable to get the solder bead to re-attach to the pcb, i should have probably tried to exchange the board before attempting to repair it my self but i assumed this would be a no go as i bought the board over a year ago from e3d. I can only assume that this joint was faulty when i bought the board as this is the first time it has been used.
Anyway i am wondering since im driving the heat bed with an SSR would i be able to use a ground pin elswhere on the board to bypass the problem? or could i try and remove the screw terminal entirely and solder some leads directly to the board? Im trying to avoid having to buy a new board before ive even got the printer working properly. -
RE: motor phase A may be disconnected help a newby out
solved: incorectly wired endstops... i knew it would be somthing silly, thanks all the same.
-
RE: motor phase A may be disconnected help a newby out
cables came with the motors, the small ammount of movement i am getting is in the correct direction when homing.

RE: motor phase A may be disconnected help a newby out
Forgot to say im using a duet2wifi firmware ver 3.1.1

motor phase A may be disconnected help a newby out
Im in pthe process of commisioning my new core XY build, I've never used duet electronics before and im having an issue getting the motors running. When homing either the X or Y axis the tool head will move 10mm or so before stopping and the board returns
G28 Y Warning: motor phase A may be disconnected reported by driver(s) 2 Warning: motor phase B may be disconnected reported by driver(s) 2
im sure its somthing im doing wrong, the fact that im getting a bit of movement is heartning.
im using e3d's 'high torque motors' on the x and y.- Step Angle: 0.9°
- Rated Current: 1.68A
heres the relevent part of my config.g:

System is running on 24v, Anyone know what i might be doing wrong? TIA
