You're not the first person to have strange behaviour with Fritzbox routers, but I don't know why that may be.

When you're unable to connect to DWC are you able to ping the IP address assigned to the Duet?

Just in case it's SD card issue, do you have a spare to test with?

@dogma2k in your #3 I had the same issue. Then I cut a USB 3.0 cable and use this Cable, Problem fixed

@dogma2k that connection is external 5V input only. Also the USB port is for 5V input only.

Be sure that the AP won't overload it, even at startup. Generally we would recommend powering external devices from there own power supply.

@dogma2k possibly. a parser is often used to get information from a http reply. you still need to send the right commands to the duet.
