To move the tool just 10mm down from the actual printing position, you have to set the Z-axis with G91 to relativ movement instead of absolut. Then you can send a G1 Z10. After that you have to go back to absolut movement with G90. These three commands should be in the tfree#.g file of the RRF tool change files I guess.

I used both and will definitely stick with the Duet ABL!
The possibility to save a heightmap of your headbed alone is a big reason. This makes it possible to probe your bed just once and then load the saved heightmap before every print. Saves a lot of time and is much more convenient.
The ABL itself works great and stable, I can really recommend it.

Hi there,
In fact you could run the mesh compensation with G29 S0 just once. After that the heightmap is saved. In your start gcode just then just need the command G29 S1 to load the saved heightmap. That's it, works perfect for me!
After some prints if you see that the compensation isn't perfect anymore you just run the mesh compensation again with G29 S0 and your good again.

Since there was no answer for a long time (and I was in holyday) I retry to find a solution for my problem. It would be a shame to trash such a nice board with just one component damaged...

Any chance that there is a solution to repair the board or tp get it replaced under warranty?

Did you test if enabling retraction reduces the amount of blobs or do you just assume that the blobs will get worse?
Because I could imagine retracting could prevent that too much plastic gets out of the nozzle after the print move finished and before the nozzle takes off to another location.

As T3P3Tony said there could be a tool change in the actual gcode.

Another problem could be that your customer set the temperatur for the first layer right but changed the temperatur of the other layers. I know this from the prusa slicer:

But then it doesn't make sense that the tool gets deaktivated...

To change the standby temperatur of a tool you need to change the following code in the config.g file:

M563 P0 D0 H1 ; define tool 0
G10 P0 X0.0 Y0.0 Z0.0 R0 S215 ; offsets, active and standby temperatur

The R parameter is the standby temperatur and the S parameter the active temperatur.
But I don't think this is a solution.

Is it possible that your customer encounters some temperatur faults and there by the tool gets deactivated? If so there should appear an error message on the PanelDue or DuetWebControll.

Yes a clogged nozzle with carbon filament = irreversible destroyed nozzle...

I don't know what filament brand you are using but I am printing with 245°C/75°C and print with the same printing speed as PLA.
It is importand that you have a hardend nozzle on your hoten!!

Is it possible that your retractsettings are not right? Try a higher retract distanc to see if these blobs disappear.
I am printing a lot with colorfabbs XT-CF20 and don't have such imperfections. The right flowrate is also crucial for printing with carbon fiber materials. There has to be a slight overflow but not so much that it is visibel.

EDIT: I have a extrusion multiplier of 1.2 and a retract length of 0.8mm with a E3D hotend.

Yes thats the case! I am pretty confident that I hocked the system up correctly like I did a hundret times before. Could a faulty wiring of the BLTouch have such a big impact like frieing the U3 regulator?

The board is versiion 1.04.

Is it possible that the trigger current at heater pin 6 is too small?

Could you try switching the relay on and off with the heatbed output just to test if the relay works?

Ok, so the message appears on the PanelDue as soon as you turn the printer on?
Could you upload the config.g file that is stored on the SD card from the Duet 2?
Maybe there is some weird start up sequenz on there...

Thank your vey much for your fast response!
5V is used by following components:

• BLTouch

• 3 Endstops

• PanelDue

• 2 thermistors

I am quite sure that 24V is not shorted to 5V/3.3V because the system worked before without any problem.

Hi there!

We have the duet 2 wifi boards in all of our printer and are extremly happy with them. At the time we are developing a multi-material-system and built our selves a test rig for that.

At this test rig wejust hooked up all the wiring for the printer and turned it on. The PanelDue didn't light up and the BLTouch didn't do his up/down routine as alwasy. After some seconds there was a spark and I turned the printer off immediatly!
When we checked the board we could find a little whole in the 5V regulator marked as U3 on the board.
