This could suit a (semi-) retired EE.
I work for a local University and have undertaken several projects to assist this SME using grant funding. The project has now come to an end.
Double sided PCB with a mixture of PTH & SMD components.
PCB will eventually need re-spinning to move it from prototype to production, and leverage improving supply chain conditions.
The PCB was designed using KiCAD V6.x and I am populating/debugging 6 off boards.Hardware details:
Processor: RP2040 Dual ARM Cortex-M0+ @ 133MHz (RPi PICO-W module)
H/W & Comms Protocols:
I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485 Comms, UART based
SIM800L 2G GSM Module, simple SMS messaging, UART AT commands
WiFi 2.4GHz CYW43439Knowledge/Appreciation of:
Solar Panel & Wind turbine technology
General understanding/appreciation.
Some RS232/485 comms may be requiredSoftware can be written in C, Python etc.
IDE Micopython, Circuitpython, Arduino, Visual studio etec.Hardware will be free issued for s/w development, once all modules have been tested/exercised using standard libs.
