I'm having trouble diagnosing a new surface defect
-
The following picture shows some weird defects I'm getting after a stepper motor failure.
- Swapped the motor over.
- Swapped the new motor to a different stepper driver
- Increased and decreased the jerk settings from 900 originally to settings between 100 & 2000; the issue is least visible at higher jerk settings - the change in the defect in the picture was due to changing jerk
- Increased and decreased acceleration, max speed, and amperage, with no visible effect
- Checked belt tension
- Reapplied grease to the rails (why not?)
I'm stumped as to what it might be. Any ideas?

I tried a new tact; I increased the resolution of the mesh, so it didn't have to 'turn' as steeply, and now the defect is mostly gone.

@jrow Could it be a problem with pressure advance? Maybe the corners were triggering a pressure advance thing that was too much.
