Good point of using SBC(such as Raspbery PI )with duet3?
-
Hello There.
Now I am changing the board from Duet2wifi to Duet3, I am just wondering what is the advantage of using a SBC with it .
Can somebody list the good points and maybe bad points ? -
@hiroaki from what I've tested with rpi3b and the 10" touch lcd wired to the hdmi port seams bit too slow...I much prefer the standalone duet 3 and use the rpi with the touchscreen in kiosk mode where on start open the duet web controll web page...thats way is much faster and controll of the duet 3 didn't have the lag I had when connected in sbc mode!

@weed2all the recent addition of various resource heavy plugins such as the GCODE preview is the main reason to use an SBC. If you're not interested in that, you can use stand alone.

What ? You mean the one called G-code viewer which is in stand alone plugins ?
So which plug in can't you use in stand alone ? -
@peter247 I didn't mean this in particular, it was just an example
the NodeDSF plugin started out as DSF only so required SBC; another is the advanced networking plugin for DWC which requires and SBC for SSL support if I am not mistaken. -
@oliof Thank you so much!
