3D printer automatic filament change

Good morning.
I am trying to figure out how to do this:
Printer runs out of filament and filament sensor detects it so it unloads whats left of the old spool and loads a new one. I have direct drive extruder so that complicates the task a bit.
My idea is to buy a driver expansion board and use something like Prusa MMU2.
Did anyone try to solve this idea?
