Duet 3 6HC External TMC 2208 or 2209 with Stall Detection
-
All motor drivers on the board are used in my printer and I need another driver to connect the E3D Coupler motor. How can I connect an external driver to the Duet 3 board?
I have a StepStick MKS TMC2208 and 2209.
Please recommend how to connect it correctly in order to be able to set the motor current and use Stall Detection.

well there is the https://www.duet3d.com/Duet3Expansion1XD board to connect external stepper drivers.
BUT
this makes no sense in your case.for the same price you can get https://www.duet3d.com/Duet3Toolboard1LC which has a TMC2209 driver on it and is integrated better and offers more features.
and with the first board you can not use stall detection.

This option is understandable. Unfortunately, I don't have this board right now.
Is it possible to connect the driver directly to the board?

Good. Thanks for the answer! I will then use the board you wrote.
