Converting a Duet WiFi to Duet Ethernet

Awhile back, @tjschweizer did a post on doing just this. One question i had which i'm unable to ask due to the post being locked, is a different firmware required after you make this hardware change?
This article is ~3yrs old now and i have a Duet Wifi 2, but i assume it's still an option for me right?

no, firmware should detect the lack of wifi and assume ethernet (or the other way around, so if the surgery is a success it should just-work(tm))

yes there is just the one Duet 2 Wifi, and all the revisions should work the same in that regards.
