Any closed loop solution for Duet 3?

@dc42 said in Closed loop duet.:
But we have worked out a solution, and we are planning some closed loop solutions for Duet 3. The first will probably be a CAN-connected single TMC2160 driver with encoder input. The encoder could be built into the motor, or it could be a linear encoder on an axis. We plan to make a variant for BLDC motors after that.
So, I get my Duet 3, hc6 and I am really looking for implementing closed loop with this board!

@elixirtrip no, it does not support closed loop itself. You can attach external closed loop driver and drive it with step/dir signals but the board itself does not support that functionality. IIRC duet guy's mentioned they are working on their own closed loop driver that should be able to work on the can bus so when they make it you will be able to link that driver to the duet3 board using can bus. keyword "when" as it's not available yet, no clue in what stage of development it is

@arhi So maybe they will provide us with some new information about "when" keyword and some other news about closed loop driver or any other plans in this direction?

@elixirtrip well some info is already here. For now there is a board that can go to can bus without a driver and you can attach your own external closed loop (leadshine, odrive ..):
