How to connect PSU for Neopixel and signal wire

When using an external PSU for led strip how is it supposed to be connected?
If +/- of the LED PSU goes directly to LED strip will it work connecting the single LED strip signal wire to a Mini5 board LED parts signal pin?
In my limited knowlege of these things I would think thar the duet board need at last two wire to send a signal. Like signal.and ground, so the pixies/electrons has somewhre to go... 🥴

@fotomas wire it as you said and connect the negative of the LED PSU to the negative of the printer PSU

do not want to argue but then then power to the LED strip is just one lead. It will only join on the AC side. I do not understand...ahhh negative to negative between the PSU'sBut I have an answer how to connect things, thank you!

@fotomas thats the one. +ve +-ve of LEDs to LED PSU. LED PSU -ve to -ve of printer PSU. Neopixel control from the duet to the LEDs

Is it ok to connect to LED strip in parallel? Would it work and both behave the same, as a mirror image of eachother?
