Dual z Probe IDEX?
-
Hi,
I have an IDEX printer. The left print head can not reach the X end on the right side, as the right print head can not reach the left end of the print bed. VBoth have a DC42 IR probe attached. My hope was that I can X-Level or create the mesh with two probes since two probes are supported since a while . One on each toolhead. But this is not how I understood it from reading the documentation.
I think it would be nice to level the X extrusion by using two probes one left on right instead of driving one print head from left to right while I have two. The same with the mesh. I can not generate a full mesh of the bed if one printhead can reach only 80% of the bed.Or did I understood something wrong?
Cheers, Chriss

@Chriss you "may" be able to use both probes for levelling the X axis.
For exampleG30 K0 X10 Y10 Z-9999 G30 K1 X200 Y10 Z-9999
In theory that should work but i've never tried it.
In terms of a bed mesh, assuming you use the same points, it should be possible to make 2 meshes using both probes and then manually merge them into one

Thanks @jay_s_uk, you are right... I have not seen that I can point out to the probe No. when I use G30. I will give it a try... That looks promising.
Sure, I can merge the points from two files. But it would be far more handy if both print heads can do that job in parallel.
Anyway, I have some other problems with the IR probe and the PEI surface I guess
