Cdy v3 and hobby servos.

I bought a mellow cdy v3 a while back to play with and never got around to putting it on a machine. I had an idea for a Bambu style ams a while back and I was thinking about printing some of the mechanicals and doing some testing. On the cdy can I connect a servo to say a fan output and use m950 s0 "fan1", as long as I have a separate 5v supply for the servo and tie negatives?

@breed Sorry but I don't think that will work. The fan outputs (and most higher power outputs) on 3D printer control boards almost always switch the negative supply. For a servo you need a control signal that consists of a pulse train that changes between 0V and (typically) +5V. With a fan output you will have an output that changes between 0V and floating (so essentially connected to nothing). You may be able to make this work using some sort of pull up on the fan output, but that may run into other problems.
I'd suggest keeping this simpler and using one of the logic level outputs (like the ones on the EXP connectors), you may need a level shifter (from 3.3V to 5V) or you may get lucky and be able to operate the servo directly with a 3.3V signal.

@gloomyandy awesome thank you.
