Extruder only works on right side of bed?..
-
Printers been working ok for the past few days. Today I let it run alone (usually no big deal) and the print failed at the last few layers. Spaghetti on top of the rest of the good print.
I just did an upgrade to 3.4.4 firmware a week or so ago and the printer has been working just fine. Other than me having to "change filament" in DWC to allow me to do a manual extrude?
Just finished a new model; uploaded the g-code and went to print.
My extruder starts jittering, and only extruding about half the time. Checked for clogs. wiring issues. cant find anything really..
I noticed once the print head passes (about) the middle of the bed on the right side it'll extrude just fine. as soon as it passes to the left side of the bed the extruder stepper motor starts to jitter and wont extrude anything??
I thought maybe it was a G-Code issue. So I tried to manually extrude. Same issue. If I jog the nozzle past about 140 (x-axis) of 300mm it'll extrude just fine. jog it to anything less than 140 the stepper motor jitters.
I also get a "response too long" warning in DWC and a message in the console that says
"warning: driver 3 warning : phase a may be disconnected"
only when trying to manually extrude on the left side of the bed.
I haven't tried much more yet. wanted to see if this was a known issue before I go on an adventure...
Thanks

@miller-spec Hi, I could see either the print head connectors (ie motor cables) coming loose due to insufficient strain relief and/or wiring length, or the filament becoming stuck in the tube when the print head moves to a location where it pulls on the tube and puts a kink in it or the bending radius becomes too small. The "phase disconnected" warning might point to the former.

@sonderzug maaan your right lol...
I tried moving the connector around at the motor but it didn't seem to do anything earlier. SMH..
But its definitely the connection at the motor.. I just checked again..
I've been wanting to re wire this thing how I wire cars. It needs strain relief in a few places..
Thanks
