CM4 adapter to Duet 3
-
I figured out Kicad 6 and freerouting. Used rpi-cm4-carrier-template and bits of CM4IO to make it. Boards ordered from JLCPCB. It a sdcard for the lite, ethernet co, 40 pin and a 23pin socket. All All I have is a Wifi 2gb/8gb version. Don't have a lite to test the sdcard. Those currently have outrageous prices: Amazon:$109, Alliexpress:$170.
Have to get the parts next month and hopefully doing the small smds aren't too hard. I do need to get a rework board heater, already have the hotair gizmo.

@stephen6309 if you have spares, I'd be interested in a board. I have a CM4 that's currently unused.
-
@oliof I did order five, so at least a couple should survive my learning smd soldering.
-
I do plan on releasing the kicad files for it.

Very nice!I was going to create a board like this but with PoE and a camera interface as well. Ultimately gave up when I realized how horrible the inventory is with anything PI at the moment.
Interesting side-note, there appears to be a Compute Module 4S (CM4S) in the works that was found in a GitHub repo. Check out the pi forums for more details- crossing my fingers these will actually be in stock!

Also - let me know if you find a good board-to-board connector to mount it directly in top of the Duet 3! -
@tlas The template has:
Receptacle component options:
1.5mm height: 2x Hirose DF40C-100DS-0.4v
OR
3.0mm height: 2x Hirose DF40HC(3.0)-100DS-0.4vIt appears it has a lead around 26 weeks at Digikey and Mouser.

Looks like the hirose connectors are back ordered everywhere. ETA July, I ordered 10 from Mouser. Will order the other smd bits then. Of course, I found an error on the boards after I ordered them. Accidentally called GPIO16 as GPIO18, won't affect the duet connection and I didn't realize the board needed to be notched to fit against the Mini. So, I'm going to make one to use a regular PI 3/4. The 6HC and Mini have the 26pin connector 180 degrees to one another, so the 6HC will need to use a 26pin wire wrap socket.

Received the boards. Vey nicely made. Those pads for the cm4 connectors sure are small. Good thing I got the mask. Now for the long wait for those connectors.

Update: Mouser just emailed: Production Issues Reported - Delivery Unknown for the hirose connectors.
So, I made one to use the regular PI4. Waiting for the boards to test.
