Height map makes my bed look warped…Why???
-
dc42, do you have your config, override and bed file posted anywhere? I have always wanted to take a look at them.
-
yes, its a Delta, that probably would have been good info to include in my original post, built using trick laser max metal frame.
M557 R125 S20
At one point when i was using fsr under beds i tried height corrections. Just looking at it i found that somehow i must have fat finged something in because one point had a 0.2 and one point had a 6 correction in it, all the rest where zero. fixed them all to zero and it changed it to this.
Calibrated 7 factors using 17 points, deviation before 0.686 after 0.224

ok, cleared out my config override file and tried againl
things look better, but that height map still looks odd to me? am i getting into normal now or do i have something else going on?
Calibrated 6 factors using 17 points, deviation before 0.126 after 0.125

Want to give 9 factors a shot?
-
i thought it only went to 7
-
Nope, all the way to 9.
-
I ran into more issues when I calibrated over 6 factors. Six ended up working great for me. More wasn't better in this case when I set up my delta. The trigger height corrections are what you'll need to establish and plug in. Once you get those nailed, you'll be off and running.
-
9 factors is looking better for me
im using a piezo in the print head so i have no variation in trigger height
Calibrated 9 factors using 17 points, deviation before 0.159 after 0.034

That's a lot better. What are your M665 and M666 changes?
-
config has
M665 R135.59 L330.77 B135.59 H235.444
M666 X0 Y0 Z0after calibration i got
M665 Diagonal 344.383, delta radius 138.954, homed height 235.472, bed radius 135.6, X -0.050°, Y -0.359°, Z 0.000°
M666 Endstop adjustments X-0.20 Y0.13 Z0.07, tilt X-0.23% Y0.22% -
M500 will save that to override.g and if you have M501 at the end of your config.g, it'll use those settings.
-
so yes, 9 made the calibration look good, but it did not make it print good. back to 6 i guess
-
What is wrong with the print?
-
Things where great near the center, but out near the edges it went right off the bed. I guess it
changing the arm length by 14mm was not the best -
How big is your bed?
-
try 8 factor cal
-
Is there a list somewhere of what the different factors are? i saw one once but it only went up to 7.
-
https://duet3d.com/wiki/Calibrating_a_delta_printer
found it, going to give 8 a try
-
I think that is better, you can even see on the heightmap where i have binder clips holding the heatspreader plate down.
Calibrated 8 factors using 17 points, deviation before 0.087 after 0.056

Earlier you said it went off the bed. Are you saying it tried printing off the edge of the bed? Is your build plate 270mm+?
