membrane switch Sensors? Anyone using with Duet?

It looks like something better and more reliable than Bltouch. I kinda wonder if anyone is using this with Duet wifi.

Probably not. I’ve experimented with a FSR but replaced it with an opto-mechanical sensor, as the sensitivity varied heavily with temperatures and over time.
Sure, the membrane acts as a direct switch between nozzle and print bed, but in practice, the expected precision vanishes as soon as you have some filament on the nozzle. Even worse, you can’t pre-heat the head to avoid this - the membrane would melt.
To measure, the membrane sensor must be mounted onto the nozzle, then be removed again. This is no stable arrangement, it might easily come loose during the levelling process. With silicon socks, you can't even fix it at all. Finally, it is quite inaccurate to level a cold bed.
As with my FSR, any membrane wears out over time, optical or mechanical switches are much more reliable.
