Voron V0.1 issue
-
What is the problem? I have watched the video 4 times, read the text, 'Belt Cogging'
Is the belt slipping?P.
-
Hi Paul,
Not easy for a bloody foreigner to get wording rightPrinthead is moving back and forth and at about 8sec in the video you can see the pulley stop/move in wrong direction = not in gcode.
This cogging that I call it gives this awful layershift.
Have ordered new belt and pulleys, and received new drivers today. SKR V1.4 with TMC2209 3.1
Running drivers in UART mode max 1200mA -
I would suggest belt tension is too loose.
Badly aligned belts to pulley, not to mention you are using a SKR and not a Duet Mini!Believe it or not, quality of the pulleys can cause issues like that, not enough grip or tooth profile is wrong.
Are you using the V0.1 default config?P.
-
Not so loose. I now have no-name belt and cheapo chinesium pulleys.
V0.1 config?? please elaborate if you have time.
-
@tecno Printer.cfg is what I meant in regards to 'Config'
The speeds you are running do not look extreme, from the video you posted.Only other thought you could be running close to the bed and the nozzle is catching slightly, which can cause layer shift.

Will try to raise the nozzle and see if that can be the issue, but first layer looks just fine.
I'll be back
-
Sorry same problem still
-
@tecno As an experiment, take out any filament and start a print and see if you still get layer shift.
This will allow you to eliminate the possibility it's the extruder catching on part of the print.
From what I'm seeing, it seems like it's mechanical and I expect you'll still hear the jumps and see a layer shift.
-
Still same problem
-
@tecno, try printing without filament and without a belt?
May indicate if the controller sends something funny.
-
Actually I think I've found the issue.
- Belts too tight
- re level the bed = was too close obviously. Done at 60°C
- Still some hard clonk noise that I think is bad linear bearing . Will regrease from outside.
This was driving me crazy but now I think this can work.
I hope this can be helpful to others.
Cheers

First print, not 100% but close enough so I am a happy camper
